Home Is Where The Heart Is A Billionaire BWWM Romance HAH Book 1 edition by J A Fielding BWWM Club Literature Fiction eBooks

This is the first book of a series between Julie, a real estate agent and Steven, another real estate agent. They meet when he buys properties she shows and then I guess he sells to his A-list clients. (I'm not sure how that works)

A friend have me these in the form of a gift certificate and insisted I would love the series. This is a review for the entire series because I do not recommend you read anything beyond the first book. The author is self published which is problematic in too many ways to go into in detail so I'll try to keep it to the basics.

There are major inconsistencies from one book to the next. One example is that at the end of one book her new assistant is Andy. The start of the next he is Tony with no explanation for the change. In every book she introduces elements for a potentially interesting conflict. The leech of a cousin who comes to town when she finds out Julie is hooked up with a billionaire. His exes who predictably want him back.

I thought Meg, her best friend was married in the first two books then she's been divorced for years. I could be wrong. I don't read books looking for inconsistencies so when I need to refer to a previous book because something happens contrary to what I believed was written before..... let's put it this way, I just should not have to do that.

The author has the potential to have a great series. The characters, the premise, the details...they are all there. Unfortunately, they aren't fully realized.

SPOILER ALERT

Two examples of unrealized details:

In The Other Man, her ex comes back, hmmm, after she gets engaged, to let her know they married in Vegas seven years ago and are still married. He's known for seven years. She was drunk and doesn't remember. He never bothered to tell her. Now he appears, wanting a divorce to marry his current girlfriend. Julie arranges an annulment but he wants a divorce. Great fodder for a plot right? He appears when shes the top agent and is about to marry a billionaire. $$$$$$. That's what I thought the deal was with divorce versus annulment. Then she just calls the attorney and voila her marriage is annulled and we don't see or hear from the ex again. No trying to get money from her, or delaying the wedding.
In The Wedding, the obstacles abound. That's the stuff great stories come from. Not here. Each problem gets taken care of neatly without suspense. I didn't worry for a second. Then two of his exes show up saying they are bridesmaids. (WTF). They aren't heard from after we hear they've arrived. The wedding is on the last few pages and is the most anemic detail of the story. More attention was paid to the Best Man and Maid of Honor hooking up. Literally there was no description of how Steven and Julie felt when they saw each other. The service consisted of vows they forgot (Did they forget to write them, did they forget them at home, did they memorize then forget them?) and pronouncing them man and wife.

Most of the details happen or are handled off page meaning one person mentions something is occurring elsewhere or says how it was handled. The important parts of most of these books are hearsay.

Ms Fielding comes up with potentially interesting conflict and details but she should give them to someone else to write. (I know that is harsh but it is true)

Do not spend money on these books.

Home Is Where The Heart Is A Billionaire BWWM Romance HAH Book 1 edition by J A Fielding BWWM Club Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I like when the book starts off getting my attention. Julie is smart and through she compares Steven as Christian Grey, he seems intriguing and confident in himself. This story was short and loving. They fell in love fast. I will continue to read to see what will happen next
First I would like to thank the author giving me this book freely for Christmas. I enjoyed reading the first book of this series. The plot of this book is so good hated the way the book ended but will have to buy book to to finish it. Would recommend this book to anyone to read
The main itch I had about this book is why advertise an IR read when there's no mention of the characters looks or uniqueness? There's no point. It may as well had been WWWM. With that said it was an okay read.
A J Fielding you did again this book was a good read the day I purchased it was the same day I finish reading it could not put it down. Love the chemistry between Steven and Julie from the moment there first met. I hope this is a series like The Mr Right series. Looking forward to the second book. customer please please purchase this book you will not be disappointed.
I feel cheated. I am tired of these writers putting out a part of a story and charging for every one. Will not buy any more installments. Story was so, so. A tip to the author, tell your readers out right that you are putting out an incomplete work.
This is book one and I guess you have to start somewhere. I gave this read three stars, because I kept reading. This book is a little slow, and I felt that the main characters were rushed into a passion scene. I wasn't convinced in book one about their love. So,I kept reading.
While I enjoy this author's books there was something missing here. I liked the characters, however I wish there was something more to the story. I am not really sure why they love each other because nothing really happens. There were lots of opportunities for the story to get interesting but it never did. It would have been nice to hear Steven's point of view because without it their love story is hard to believe. At times I wondered if he was really in to her.
